Digital First Event

It’s been a busy year! but yesterday it was great to take some time out and immerse myself in some very useful knowledge at The Digital First event held at my co-working space @jacksmill_hub13, in Newtown Mount Kennedy, Co. Wicklow. The first speaker, Dónal Kearney from growremote.ie, spoke about remote working and how more remote job opportunities will be created in the future, which was wonderful to hear. This was followed by the Local Enterprise Office speaking about various services that are available to small businesses, i.e. courses and the online trading voucher scheme – these courses by the LEO are really useful and often free. We then broke for chats and delicious food supplied by @thedivinefoodie and then after a talk was given by Wicklow Co Co, on the broadband deployment plans scheduled for the county. The event was really informative and useful. My co-working space is in a converted old saw mill located on a farm, which is co-owned by a husband and wife team, Caroline and Huw. Huw O’Toole is an architect who has beautifully converted the old saw mill into a co-working hub – lovely people and a great space to work.
